Every parent would do everything to protect their newborn. However many people seem to forget how they used to behave when their kids were babies, and can even make you feel that you are being over protective.

You probably have experienced that unpleasant situation, when your friends say that their children have a cold, but it is nothing major, and they can still come and visit you and your baby.

Also another unpleasant situation is when you take your kid for a play date in the park, and then some other kid has a cough and green snot running down at full steam from both nostrils.

Or when your dinner date comes over and says that the kids will not eat too much, because they all had gastro all week.

While hearing all these thing you are probably getting paranoid and you are thinking about saying to them “if your children are sick, you should stay at home”, “no, please do not come to the park to play if your kid is sick” and the most importantly “do not cuddle and kiss my kids”.

Some may think that you are being over protective. However don’t mind them, because you are completely right. Sick people must not come closer to babies.

You most certainly would not want these people to spread all the germs and you definitely would not want your kid to get sick.

Think, if your kid gets sick, then you will have to stay home from work and take care of your kid. Additionally, even you can end up feeling sick.

Even though this may seem like nothing serious, some mothers can be pretty paranoid. Although they know that they cannot keep their kids in a bubble forever, they run to the doctor’s office every 5 minutes.

However, you should know that sometimes these paranoid moms can be right. Let us tell you the terrifying story about the UK mom Claire Henderson and her newborn daughter Brooke. Namely, the baby was kissed on the mouth and after a while a herpes virus developed on her lips, cheeks and chin. This baby spent five days in a hospital.

Fortunately, this baby survived. However, it is very important for everyone to know that this virus can be fatal for babies under 3 months. Unfortunately this was confirmed last year in Queensland.

Namely, baby Eloise Lampton was affected with this virus, only a few days after she was born and unfortunately she couldnot survive the virus.

After what happened to her baby, Claire Henderson decided to write on some social media and tell her opinion. According to her the point of the whole story is that you MUST NOT let anyone kiss your baby on the mouth, even if that person is completely healthy.

At this point many would probably wander why would someone, who has a cold, visit a defenseless, helpless, barely immunized newborn? And more importantly, why would they kiss the baby on the lips?

Everyone should understand, YOU MUST NOT DO THAT!

Six weeks old babies are not immunized against most of the germs that the older people carry around every day. Although a sore throat and a runny nose, may seem like a no big deal to you, however to the baby’s family and the baby itself this could mean the difference between life and death.

Therefore, we are begging you to respect the child’s right to a good health.

Everyone who has a newborn, needs to tell their family and friends that they can come and visit the baby after baby’s six-week shots.

Therefore, instead of politely agreeing to let them visit and then deal with the consequences, which can be fatal, you can tell everyone not to visit you and your baby for six months.

Parents who wrap their children in a cotton wool, are not paranoid and overprotective parents. They are simply doing the right thing.

We should not make anyone feel guilty and uncomfortable for expressing caution and for giving their baby the best chance to live a healthy life. This is in fact, everyone’s responsibility.

Therefor if you are a parent of a newborn, remember, you must not let sick people and kids come anywhere near your kid. And most importantly, do not let anyone kiss your newborn on the lips.

Remember this, you cannot afford being polite when your baby’s life is at risk!!!
